About The Artist
Sara Grace Walker is an Appalachian born and raised artisan who is passionate about bringing stories to life. She is pursuing her bachelor's degree in Costume Design and Technology, from The University of North Carolina School of the Arts (2027) Her family's continuous involvement in living history initiatives sparked her interest in historic garments and design and production. She feels strongly about amplifying stories that have been stifled throughout history and bringing theatre to communities that do not have the ability to access theatre outside of their hometown orbit. Sara Grace believes that each aspect of costuming informs the other and has ensured that her experiences at school reflect that. She has experience as a Wardrobe head, First-hand, Crafts Artisan, Costume Collection Upkeep assistant, Dance Costume Shop Assistant and more. She believes that art is a way to encapsulate the human experiences we all share, in a way that helps us process how to move forward and observe through new eyes. She hopes to continue to amplify stories that make audience members feel seen.
